Fuego (Guatemala): increased seismicity, lava flow and strong strombolian activity, possibly pyroclastic flows during early Aug. Karmysky (Kamchatka): moderate seismic activity, thermal anomaly Kilauea (Hawaii): lava lakes in Halema'uma'u and Pu'u O'o, lava flows on pali and coastal plain Nevado del Ruiz (Colombia): low levels of tremor, possibly associated with continuing gas and ash emissions. Ashfall and a strong sulfur odor reported in Manizales (30 km NW) and Chinchiná (30 km WNW). Gas and steam plume rising 700 m. Popocatépetl (Mexico): gas and steak emissions, crater glow, occasional explosions (4 km tall eruption column on 6 Aug) Sakurajima (Japan): occasional explosions up to 2.1 km altitude, bombs ejected to up to 800 m distance Shiveluch (Kamchatka): intermittent explosions, growing lava dome, possible large (10 km) explosion on 27 July Tungurahua (Ecuador): occasional small to moderate explosions (5 Aug: 3 km high plume), intense steaming ---
