The eruption inside Dolomieu crater at Piton de la Fournaise volcano is continuing at low levels and tremor has been decreasing. On Monday 9 Oct. a new vent opened about 100 m SW from Piton Wouandzani (the new cone formed in the eruption over the past weeks). It produced a new lava flow between the SE rim of Dolomieu crater and Piton Wouandzani. Since Thu 12 Oct., all activity from this vent has stopped, while it is still continuing at Piton Wouandzani which has an agitated lava lake deep inside and is feeding lava flows towards the W of Dolomieu crater.

Genau am 26. April 1986 besuchte der Co-Gründer von VolcanoDiscovery, Tobias Schorr zum ersten Mal die Vulkanhalbinsel Methana in Griechenland. Sofort verliebte er sich in diese wunderschöne Landschaft und von 1989-1999 lebte er ganzjährig dort. Tobias Schorr dokumentierte die Natur, Archäologie, Geologie und Bewohner Methanas in über 8000 Dias. Von 1991-1995 arbeitete er an der geologischen und topografischen Landkarte der ETH-Zürich über Methana mit. Er entwickelte die ersten Wanderprogramme für Methana und brachte die ersten, ausländischen Reisegruppen nach Methana. Methana können Sie auf Anfrage individuell buchen, oder Sie schließen sich der Wanderstudienreise "Saronischer Golf" an, auf der Methana ein wichtiges Exkursionsziel ist.
