Summary of world-wide volcanic activity 28 March - 3 AprilDonnerstag Apr 05, 2012 13:13 | VON: T
Another volcanically relatively quiet week has passed. Some exceptions were April's Fool's day eruption at Etna, and ongoing strong eruptions at Shiveluch in Kamchatka (where activity needs to be colossal to make the news.) Several volcanoes have calmed down and been set back to lower alert levels. As usual, the new Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report has been issued today and is summarized as follows: -- new activity --- Cleveland (Aleutians): new lava dome growth detected, alert raised again Fuego (Guatemala): strong strombolian activity Iliamna (Alaska): slightly increased seismic activity Lewotobi (Flores, Indonesia): steaming and seismic activity decreased, alert lowered back to 1 (out of 4) Nevado del Ruiz (Colombia): increasing seismic activity, strong degassing, eruption warning Soufriere Hills (Montserrat): low seismic activity, strong degassing and SO2 emission Sundoro (Central Java, Indonesia): alert lowered to normal --- ongoing activity --- Etna (Sicily, Italy): New SEC paroxysm nr 23 on 1 April Karmysky (Kamchatka): occasional ash eruptions, thermal anomaly at summit crater Kilauea (Hawai'i): active lava lake in Halema'uma'u crater, incandescence visible from both a small pit on the NE edge and a small spatter cone on the SE edge of the Pu'u 'O'o crater floor, and on the upper part of the lava-tube system on the E flank. Lava flows continued to advance down the pali and across the coastal plain, reaching about 1.6 km from the coast. On 2 April a small lava flow issued from a vent on the S edge of the Pu'u 'O'o crater floor. Popocatépetl (Mexico): steam-and-gas emissions and incandescence from the crater Puyehue-Cordón Caulle (Chile): small plumes up to 1.2 km above crater, incandescence at crater Shiveluch (Kamchatka): strong explosive activity, ash plume up to 7 km altitude, viscous lava flow in 2010 crater Tengger caldera (Bromo) (East Java, Indonesia):activity decreased to normal levels over past months, alert lowered to normal (1 out of 4) Tungurahua (Ecuador): steaming, minor ash emission, lahars triggered by rainfalls ---

Eine technisch kleinere, aber optisch offensichtliche Designänderung wurde nur umgesetzt, - alles bleibt gleich, aber wir dachten, oben ein Bild hinzu... Ich hoffe euch gefällt die Veränderung!
