Santiaguito's activity continues at elevated levels. During 29-30 July, INSIVUMEH reports weak to moderately strong explosions that produced ash columns reaching 1,500 meters height and moving west southwest for 12 km. At night the sounds of pyroclastic flows could be heard. White steam plumes rise from the lava dome to 400 m height.

The activity at Santiaguito has been decreasing in the past weeks. Ash explosions from the active lava dome are becoming less intense and frequent and INSIVUMEH reports that the blocky lava flows from the dome are currently calm. ...

A moderate explosion occurred at 05:47 26 June producing a 600 m tall ash column drifting SE, and causing ash fall in the areas of Finca San José and Finca La Quina. Weak avalanches descended from the SE side of the dome and the lava flow front on its SW side. After 21:00 at night, a small lahar descended into the Nimá I river.

Based on seismic data and visual observations, INSIVUMEH reported that on 6 June a lahar traveled down Santa María's Rio Nima I drainage. During 6-7 and 10-12 June explosions from Santiaguito lava-dome complex produced ash plumes that rose 400-800 m above the crater and drifted SW. Lava flows produced block avalanches.
