Mt. Merapi is on of Indonesia's most active volcanoes and has spectacular eruptions, often with pyroclastic flows, every few years. When it is active (such as in spring-summer 2006), VolcanoDiscovery organizes expeditions for interested individuals and small groups on demand to watch its activity. Sample program for a 8-days volcano tour on Merapi

Day 1	Arrival to Indonesia Pick-up from Jakarta (or Denpasar) airport, transfer to downtown hotel and group dinner. Night in good mid-class hotel in Jakarta. Note: If all of the group arrives early enough, we might be able to fly to Yogyakarta already that day.
Day 2	Domestic flight to Yogya, transfer to hotel.
Days 2-7	Observation of Merapi volcano at night/ day from different viewpoints. Accommodation: Good mid-class hotel in downtown of Yogyakarta.
Day 8	Return to Jakarta / Denpasar by domestic flight from Yogya. Extension or international flight back.
