Erhöhte seismische Aktivität und schwach dampfenden aus dem südlichen Gipfel des Vulkans Leweotobi (Gunung Lewotobi Perempuan, "Woman of Lewotobi") mit einer Höhe von 1703 m hat eine Erhöhung der Warnstufe von 1 (normal) bis 2 (Alarm) ausgelöst. Einwohner und Touristen in das Gebiet wird empfohlen, nicht auf den Vulkan Ansatz. Lewotobi ist einer der aktivsten Vulkane der Insel Flores und zuletzt 2003 ausbrach.
