Since last night (28 April), new strombolian activity has been observed from Etna's New SE crater. With all likelihood, this announces another paroxysm to occur in the next few days. This would then be the 26th since 2011 when the series of eruptions began, or the 7th in 2012.

Active lava flows continue to advance on Kīlauea's coastal plain and have now entered the narrow coastal strip of the National Park known as the Kalapana extension, reaching within 0.9 km /0.6 mi of the Pacific Ocean. Access to this area from the end of Chain of Craters Road within the National Park is estimated to be 8-9km / 5-6 miles EACH WAY, while only about 3 miles each way from the typically upwind Kalapana side (which requires private land access).

Weak ash emissions from deep strombolian activity within the New SE crater has been observed since last evening (20 April). If the eruption patterns remains more or less the same, a new paroxysm is probably under way within the next days.

Lava levels in Kīlauea's newest crater, the Overlook Vent within Halema‘uma‘u, have reached their highest point of 70m / 230ft below the 1974 crater floor, matching conditions in March 2011 just prior to the 5-day Kamoamoa fissure eruption. Glow from the edge of Kīlauea caldera has been strong over the past month, except on exceptionally rainy nights! Speaking of the volcano's summit, it has been swelling significantly over the past 6 months - a total increase of 6cm / 2.4in across the caldera! This is not as fast as the previous 12 months, but still notable! ...mehr [alles lesen]

A small earthquake swarm has been occurring at the western margin of the caldera during the past few days. The swarm consists of about 10 quakes of 1-2 magnitude at 7-8 km depth.
Strombolian activity has resumed at the New SE crater of Etna last night. Most likely, this is a precursor for a next paroxysm during the coming days.

The Montserrat Volcano Observatory reports that a new vent has been observed in the location where ash venting occurred on 23 March 2012. The vent is located in the floor of the 11 February 2010 collapse scar, immediately south of the remnants of the old English’s Crater wall and southwest of the long-lived hottest fumarole previously identified. It is estimated that the vent is between 30 and 50 m across. ...mehr

Few more news have appeared about the sudden warming of Askja volcano caldera lake. From what I this news say. It seems that this sudden melt of ice in Askja lake did start in beginning of March, by the end of March the lake had gone completely ice free. This is highly unusual and is not known to have happened before. This increase in hydro-thermal activity seems to be located at the bottom of the lake. But so far there is no new change around Askja lake. But it was reported yesterday that known hydro-thermal areas in Askja volcano where well active. It is now being reported that Askja lake got ice-free over period of two weeks so. But that is highly unusual and fast change in Askja lake.
During the past days, a new earthquake swarm has been occurring near Santorini. This time, it is in an unusual location about 15 km south of the island, not on the principal volcano-tectonic SW-NE line crossing the caldera.
