I would have thought the chances of anything occurring are very small indeed. Far more dangerous is the trip from the airport to your hotel or hiring a car! I have walked around on this volcano 20yrs ago when it was also 'waking up' and it had active fumaroles. Nothing much has happened in the intervening years but of course one day it will. There probably be clear signs of this happening and at the moment it's only background. I have just returned from the canaries where there is quite a bit of volcanic activity but I didn't loose any sleep over it. Enjoy your holiday.

Do not worry about the status of Santorini volcano. Even there are changes, it will take years or even decades until a new eruption may take place.

ich meine, dass es höchstwahrscheinlich so schnell keinen Ausbruch geben wird und wenn ja, dann wäre das eine einmalige Gelegenheit, so ein Naturschauspiel zu erleben. Auf keinen Fall würde ich mich abhalten lassen, die Insel zu besuchen.

yeah ok. It was just a suggestion because there is a probability to have seismic activity after a huge solar blast. I dont know where on earth but just in case because of the ongoing phenomenon i said to watch out :)

Not impossible! Although this would be extremely surprising, but I have the same suspicion, as the location is on the volcanic SW-NE alignment where activity has occurred.

Volcano hot spots change there position on fault lines on ocasionaly as in hawaii,the canairies and indead the great yellowstone caldera super volcano.

Such changes in the location of volcanic activity are determined by the velocity with which the plates move.
