TZ WILDLIFE DEPT FEES FOR AREAS OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL PARKS
Unfortunately, Tanzania's burocracy is in a process of constantly rising fees and establishing new fees for all sorts of activities related to tourism in National Parks and outside of them. This makes the life of tour operators complicated and for all it means higher prices.
The latest addition is the so-called "TZ WILDLIFE DEPT FEES FOR AREAS OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL PARKS": In additon to the existing various fees for transits, entry permits of almost any special area, and others, this fee now includes, per person per 24 hours:
- "Wildlife Activity" (i.e. a general entry in areas with wildlife, i.e. everywhere outside cities) fee of $10 - "Camping fee" of $20 (in addition to paying for the campsite fee itself) - "Conservation fee" of $15 - "Vehicle entry fee": $5… For a tour outside a Natl. Park, this amounts to additional $50 per person per day.
Unfortunately, we need to include this, but we hope that a more tourism-friendly solution can be found and that a more transparent fee system can be established.
