Lengai's activity has been continuing to increase. Over the past days, several ash eruptions have produced plumes up to more than 10km height, the largest one possibly being on 4 March rising to about 14 km, as evident from satellite data, observations by passing aircraft and spectacular photos taken from the ground posted on Fred Belton's website. ...mehr

IG reported steam and ash-and-steam plumes from Tungurahua that rose to altitudes of 5.8-8 km (19,000-26,200 ft) a.s.l. during 27 February - 1 March. Ash plumes drifted NW, W, SW, and SE, ashfall was reported in areas to the SW on 27 February. Lahars or mudflows descended the Mapayacu and Choglontus drainages in the SW, and drainages in the Pampas sector to the S on 27 and 28 February. ...mehr

During 13-19 February the lava dome at Soufrière Hills changed very little. Seismic activity was very low and low-level rockfall activity continued. Fumarolic activity on the N and E flanks continued. Active fumaroles were also noted in the Galway's area to the S of the dome. ...mehr

Steam and steam-and-ash plumes from Colima were rising to altitudes of 4-4.4 km (13,100-14,400 ft) a.s.l. during 14-19 February. Plumes drifted N, NE, and E.
AVO reported that a minor explosion from Cleveland on 15 February. The Volcanic Alert Level remained at Color Code Yellow.
Scientists from the Universidad de Concepción will install instruments to monitor Callaqui volcano. Local residents reported feeling earthquakes and hearing constant rumbling noises during the previous few weeks. A new eruption in near future is possible.
The USGS reported a diffuse plumes from Anatahan and a increasing seismicity that was followed by new ash and steam plumes in the time of 17-20 February.

A diffuse ash plume from Cleveland was observed during a break in cloud cover on 8 February. Pilots reported an ash plume that rose to an altitude of 6.1 km. Increased activity raised the Volcanic Alert Level to Orange. During 10-11 February, a thermal anomaly was visible on satellite imagery. Seismic tremor levels at Anatahan were relatively low during 8-13 February. On 9 February, a diffuse steam plume that contained ash was observed . The Volcanic Alert Level remained at Orange.

The activity at Lengai seems to be increasing. In the past two weeks, explosions have ejected ash plumes rising several kilometers. On 15 Feb., Dutch pilots observed and photographed an eruption plume rising to estimated 12 km (36,000 ft).
The lava dome inside Sheveluch's crater continues to grow, producing small to moderate ash explosions sometimes associated with small pyroclastic flows.

Llaima continues to be active. On 6 February, intense Strombolian activity that propelled material 500 m above the summit crater was observed. Ash-and-gas plumes from the activity rose to altitudes of 5.1-5.6 km (16,700-18,400 ft) a.s.l. and drifted SE more than 30 km. Multiple lava flows traveled 0.7-1.5 km W and N and generated steam plumes due to their interaction with a glacier. Activity declined later that day. ...mehr

The Washington VAAC reported that gas plumes with possible ash content from Santa María's Santiaguito lava on 30 January.
The Tokyo VAAC reported that explosions from Sakura-jima on 3 February produced plumes.

Ash plumes and incandescence were reported from Rabaul´s caldera´s Tavurvur volcano from 31 January to 4 February and hydrogen sulfide gas was smelled.
Gas and steam emissions were reportet from Popocatépetl during 30 January - 5 February and after strong explosions rocks were propelled 300 m from the crater and rolling down in the valleys.
Ash plumes were reported from Fuego that rose to an altitude of 5 km and drifted W on 4 February.
Since October 2007 there are daily eruptions on Batu Tara volcano island that produce ash and gas plumes. There is a continuing activity since today.
There have been reported strong phreatic explosions at Guagua Pichincha volcano on February 1st. There was a increase in activity in the last weeks and it is recommended to stay away from the volcano. ...mehr
The USGS reported elevated seismic tremor levels at Anatahan the last week in January until 5 February. The lake in the E crater has disappeared, and steam and sulfur dioxide plumes drifted generally W and SW. An ash plume rose to an estimated altitude of below 2.3 km and drifted W. The Volcanic Alert Level was raised to Watch and the Aviation Color Code was raised to Orange.

Ash plumes were spotted and rose to altitudes of 5.5-9 km during 23-29 January.
At 23-29 January lava-dome growth at Mount St. Helens continued. A steam plume that rose from the dome and slightly above the crater rim was visible on 25 January.
The lava dome at Soufrière Hills has changed very little, based on visual observations on 23 January. Seismic activity was very low and low-level rockfall activity continued. Fumarolic activity on the N and E flanks also continued, along with active fumaroles in the Galway's area to the S of the dome and W in the Gages Wall area. ( Alert Level remained elevated at 4).
Seismic activity at Shiveluch was slightly above background levels during 18-25 January. Ash plumes rose to an altitude of 4.3 km during 17-18, 20, and 23 January. Fumarolic activity was noted on 19, 20, and 22 January. The Level of Concern Color Code remained at Orange.
24-30 January: White plumes from Rabaul caldera's Tavurvur cone rose to an altitude of 1.5 km and drifted E and NE. Incandescence at the summit was seen at night.

Strong eruptions were reported at 24 January from Fuego. There were ash plumes produced and shock waves were detected until a distance of 3 km. There were also avalanches of hot lava blocks rolling down the volcano.
There is a increased seismic level reported from Anatahan volcano on January 23 and on January 20-28 there was a sulfur dioxide plume. The volcanic alert level stays at Aviation Color Code at yellow.
There was reported a unusual seismicity south at the Machin volcano dome during 6-8 January 2008. There have been reported also volcano-tectonic seismic signals that show that a volcanic activity may occur soon.
White gas plumes have been reported from Galera´s main crater. Also there have been gas emissions at many points near the crater. Also some impact craters have been spotted. There was one crater with 15 m diameter and 10 m deep. Probably there have been some strong gas (?) explosions.
