Washiba-Kumonotaira volcano in the Northern Japan Alps is a group of small shield volcanoes and possible lava domes. The volcanoes are located in a remote part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park.
The last activity was from Washiba-ike volcano less than 12,000 years ago.

Beschreibung:

Iwagokekodani is one of the oldest volcanoes of the Kumonotaira complex and was active from about 1-0.9 million years ago. The younger Kumonotaira volcano was active about 300-100,000 years ago.
Washiba-ike is an explosion crater that formed after the last glaciation, with tephra deposits containing accretionary lapilli and fresh volcanic bombs.
