The small volcanic island of Nisyros, in the shadow of neighboring Kos Island, is one of the most fascinating of Greece. It's well worth spending more than just a brief visit: formed entirely by colorful volcanic rocks, it is green, lush and not overcrowded by tourism. On this tour, we walk on century-old trails and see spectacular evidence of young volcanic activity, ancient ruins, endemic plants and animals.

Day 1: |
Transfer from Athens to Nisyros
Start of the tour in Athens, pick-up and transfer to the port of Piraeus, then sail to Nisyros overnight.

Arrival on Nisyros
Arrival in the morning on Nisyros. Day to explore the surroundings of Mandraki, e.g. walk to the Ancient Acropolis, spectacular lava formations at the coast etc.

Arrival info:Arrival at Athens airport and transfer by airport bus to Piraeus harbour. Your flight should arrive before 12:00 so there is enough time for the bus transfer to Piraeus (+- 60-80 minutes).
Accommodation: Hotel in Mandraki On Nisyros we stay at a small family-run hotel near the harbour of Mandraki. Its simple but nice rooms are equipped with AC/WC/shower.
