Sample itinerary

Day 1:

Lava Proximity Hike
Get as close as safely possible, when it's possible! This extreme hike across the barren lava fields is only available when lava is active within the National Park, and can be as long as 12mi/20km round-trip, but that's what it sometimes takes to feel the heat from red, active lava. Contact us for the latest availability, distances, and more information!

Arrival info:

The tour starts and ends on Big Island, ideally in Hilo or Volcano. Pick-up and transfers to and from Kona can be arranged, but the transfer time counts towards the time of the tour.
