The geology of Methana consists about 32 volcano domes (andesitic, dacitic) that erupted from 1.000.000 B.C. to 230 B.C. The universitiy ETH-Zurich designed a map of Methana in the size 1:25.000. Also there are some places with sedimentary rocks (triadic, jurassic, cretacious) and carstic systems (caves, katavothres).
