Jabal el-Marha volcano is an isolated ca. 250 m high tuff cone 11 km south of the capital Sana'a in Yemen. Little is known about this small volcano.

Introduction:

A probably youg basaltic aa lava flow extends 1.8 km east from the cone and overlies alluvial deposits in a broad plain. Bombs and lapilli from explosive activity cover parts of the lava flow, and could be an indication of either younger explosive activity or explosive activity occurring at the same time or shortly after the lava flow.
