A large (VEI4-5) eruption occurred around 350 AD from the large Jinlongdingzi ("Mountain of the Golden Dragon") cone and deposited basaltic pumice and scoria over a broad area to the east. Jinlongdingzi is the only known vent that has erupted in the past 10,000 years. The composition of the lavas of Longgang is basaltic and trachybasaltic. |
