De fortes explosions de cendre et la croissance du dôme de lave continuent au volcan Mérapi. Hier et aujourd'hui, plusieurs coulées pyroclastiques de taille moyenne, se sont produites, atteignant jusqu'à 4 Km de distance à l’intérieur des canyons fluviaux de Kali Gendol, Lamat, Senowo et Krasak. Il a été annoncé que plusieurs milliers d'habitants qui n’ont pas encore été évacués se sont enfuis du secteur dans la panique. Deux personnes meurent dans un accident de la route.
