Raung volcano in East Java has picked up strombolian activity it seems. According to a press article, the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) reported that Raung volcano was seen emitting gray ash clouds on Sunday (6 Jan) morning. The plumes rose about 300 m above the crater. At night, "fire" could be seen around the crater and there were occasional thundering explosion sounds. ...
