The earthquake swarm shows no sign of weakening. The frequency of quakes remains high, although most are very small in magnitudes.
mardi, avril 23, 2013
Numerous small volcanic earthquakes continue at high frequency at the volcano, accompanied by continuous tremor.
lundi, avril 22, 2013
The seismic swarm continues with frequent, but smaller earthquakes compared to the previous week.
samedi, avril 20, 2013
The earthquake swarm continues, with increasingly large volcanic quakes (up to magnitude 3), many of which are showing up on INTETER's country-wide earthquake list as well. ...plus
lundi, avril 15, 2013
The earthquake swarm continues with little changes.
dimanche, avril 14, 2013
Seismic activity continues to be strong, but has eased a bit during the past days.
lundi, avril 08, 2013
Seismicity remains strong. Still there are no reports by INETER, which probably means that they do not think that an eruption could be near.
samedi, avril 06, 2013
The seismic swarm continues with again increased strength. Especially the amplitudes of (shallow) volcanic quakes have been bigger than before. This volcano remains a good candidate for a next eruption in Central America.
jeudi, avril 04, 2013
The earthquake swarm still continues and has gained some strength again, but there are no reports of unusual surface activity.
mardi, avril 02, 2013
Seismicity has remained high. INETER has not (yet) published anything about unusual activity at the volcano, which suggests that they don't expect any eruption anytime soon.
dimanche, mars 31, 2013
The earthquake swarm still continues, accompanied by near continuous tremor, although at reduced intensity.
jeudi, mars 28, 2013
The earthquake swarm continues with high amplitude but less frequent quakes.
mercredi, mars 27, 2013
The earthquake swarm still continues and appears to show a slow trend towards increasing magnitude earthquakes including a magnitude 3 event two days ago.
mardi, mars 26, 2013
The earthquake swarm, presumably caused by a magmatic intrusion at shallow depth, still continues with hundreds of tiny quakes up to about magnitude 2 each day.
lundi, mars 25, 2013
Earthquake activity in the ongoing seismic swarm remains very high and there have been a few magnitude 2+ quakes at shallow depths today as well. ...plus
samedi, mars 23, 2013
The seismic swarm continues with no changes. Hundreds of tiny quakes up to magnitudes around 2 have been occurring for the past days, but no reports have become available (so far).
vendredi, mars 22, 2013
The seismic swarm at the volcano continues, with many small tremors registered beneath the eastern sector of the volcano. There has not been any apparent surface activity reported (so far).
jeudi, mars 21, 2013
The seismic swarm continues to increase in intensity. The earthquakes are still small (below magnitude 3), but some already show up on INETERS country-wide earthquake list, and are mostly located 5-10 km east of the volcano. ...plus
mercredi, mars 20, 2013
The seismic swarm has intensified a bit. Some of the quakes are now listed by INETER on their earthquake list. The largest is apparently a magnitude 2 earthquake at 1.2 km depth a few km to the east of the summit.
mardi, mars 19, 2013
The seismic swarm continued until this morning, then waned a bit, but has now resumed with increased apparent strength (perhaps because quakes are now nearer to the surface). ...plus
lundi, mars 18, 2013
Another relatively strong seismic swarm has been in progress at the volcano since this morning. ...plus
dimanche, mars 17, 2013
An earthquake swarm has occurred last night at the volcano.
