Tolguaca volcano in Central Chile is a young basaltic-andesitic stratovolcano immediatelz NW of Lonquimay volcano. Only fumarolic activity has been known in historic times, but it has erupted frequently during the past 10,000 years. The volcano contains 2 main craters 2 km apart.
Reports of eruptions in 1876 and on 7 January 1933 have not been confirmed.

Introduction:

The volcano has a NW-SE zone of aligned summit craters increasingly younger to the NW. Another group of vents cutting the south and east flanks is oriented SW-NE, parallel to the zone of flank vents on nearby Lonquimay volcano.
