Cleveland volcano (Alaska): alert status lowered to yellow

The Alaska Volcano Observatory has lowered the alert level for Cleveland volcano from ORANGE (eruption imminent) to YELLOW (watch), after no activity has been detected at the volcano in the past days.
The alert was raised to ORANGE on 29 Dec after an ash cloud, probably produced by a single explosion of Cleveland volcano, had been detected on satellite imaginary. The ash plume was found approximately 80 KM/50 miles north of the volcano and moving ESE at a height of 15,000 ft (ca. 5 km) ASL.
