The fishing harbour of Agios Georgios on Methana (c) Tobias Schorr)
Agios Georgios is a little harbour on the Methana peninsula in Greece
The little harbour of Agios Georgios is situated at the north-east part of the volcanic peninsula Methana. Its harbour mole is made by a sunken German warship from the second world war. It is belived that in this area was also a ancient sanctuary of Poseidon. Today the harbour is dominated by the Greek orthodox church of St. George and some taverns.
