Possible new eruption in the Kuriles (Grozny group, Iturup Island)

Grozny volcano on Iturup island in the Kuriles might have had its first eruption since 1989 the Eruption Blog reports following an article in the Russian press.
The reports indicate that an ash plume rose from Ivan Gronzy (Ivan the Terrible) lava dome inside the caldera and caused light ash fall in Goryachiye Klyuchi (9 km) and Kurilsk (25 km distance).
