Background:大規模な複合成層火山にはラウには、古い、深く侵食された火山完新世時代 (ヴァン ・ Bemmelen、1949b） の若いラウ火山から、腎炎地溝帯で区切られた、北が含まれます。寄生火口湖火砕丘の亀裂の東側で発見されています。若いラウ火山クレーターの縁を含んでいる;溶岩ドームの建設を含む、最新のアクティビティでは、南の端でが発生しました。噴気地帯の南わき腹 2550 m であります。ラウだけ報告された歴史的噴火がゴロゴロと光の ashfall に報告された、1885 年に開催されました。1752 ラウから報告された主要な噴火は、Kelut 火山の近隣からだった。1979 earthquake swarm
Increased earthquakes near Lawu volcano started on 10th December 1978 and the number of tremors increased to a swarm around 14-15 May 1979, when over 1000 earthquakes were recorded over 24 hours, 50 of which were felt.
