According to KVERT, the volcano emitted a dense ash plume that rose to around 4 km altitude and extended more than 60km north-east of the volcano, as well as a weaker plume that extended 140km north-east. Visual observations indicate that the new activity originated at a vent at around 3km a.s.l. on the north-western flank of the volcano, from which a dark column rose about 200-300m. [less]
