As a recent visit to Anak Krakatau shows, the summit lava dome inside the crater continues to grow. So far, no significant explosive activity seems to have taken place, but that could change quickly.

An active lava dome is growing inside the summit crater of Krakatau volcano. Our tour expedition leader Andi just returned from a visit and reports that the dome is now about 100 m wide, and has 2 main active vents that eject jets of incandescent gas. ... [more]

Our reporter Doni / VolcanoDiscovery Indonesia spoke with the Krakatau volcano observatory of Anak Krakatau in Pasauran near Anyer, West-Java, and was told that after a brief violent eruption "the volcano has been back to normal again or quieted" now.
