Another small swarm of quakes occurred on 10 Sep and then ceased. At the moment, seismicity is again low.

At 07:32 local time 9 Sep, a 3.6 magnitude quake occurred at 3.2 km depth beneath the summit of the volcano. Seismicity had been elevated since 8 Sep and stronger than normal seismic activity has been following the quake today. This is the most energetic seismic activity at the volcano for probably more than a year. [more]

No significant changes have been occurring. Weak seismic unrest continues at Cerro Machín with some small volcanic quakes clustered at depths between 3-6 km south and southwest under the main summit. The largest event was a magnitude 0.55 on 22 August at 08:27 local time. [more]
