Tanzania 2007:
In Feb. 2007, we visited Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano - before the start of the explosive activity - as well as the fascinating Ngorongoro Highlands.

In Feb. 2007, Ol Doinyo Lengai's summit was characterized by the formation of a large collapse crater and the absense of visible activity. However, magma moving at shallow depths beneath the surface was clearly audible. A report of this visit can be found here. (Photo: Tom Pfeiffer)
