Physical requirements:

Some walking on smaller steep passages. Secure step, a good feeling for balance. Walking distances of up to around 5-10 km, climbing of up to 600m, walking times up to 4-8 hrs during a full day. For details, see section in main text. You should be able to walk over 4-8 hours (with many stops:-). It is not strolling, but wandering/walking on paths, so condition is needed. It is not "trekking" or "mountain climbing".

Arrival info:

Arrival at Athens airport and transfer by airport bus to the hotel in Athens center. Your tour guide, Tobias Schorr will welcome you at the airport and will drive together with you to your hotel.

Hotel in Mandraki

On Nisyros we stay at a small family-run hotel near the harbour of Mandraki. Its simple but nice rooms are equipped with AC/WC/shower.

Preceding / additional days:

Additional days on Nisyros are able if you accept to do the return to Piraeus / Athens yourself. Additional days on Nisyros in double room: 60€. Also you may stay longer in Athens in a hotel in the center. Double room: 70 €

Suggested tour extensions:

If you like to stay longer or if you prefer to fly from the neighbour island Cos back to Athens or your country, you can also stay a few nights in Cos town. Cos is also an interesting island with the famous ancient Asklepios sanctuary, the mountain village Zia or the town of Cos with its archaeological excavations. There is a possibility to sail from Nisyros to Kardamena village or sometimes directly to Cos town (not every day!). The transfer to Kardamena by ship is about 16 €, the taxi from Kardamena to Cos town about 35 €, the accommodation in a double room in Cos about 70 €, the transfer by taxi to the airport Cos KGS is about 35 €. You can rent a car in Cos and discovery the island yourself.
