Sassagara volcano eruptions: unknown, less than 10,000 years ago The lavas of the field are alkalic andesitic. Their precise age is unknown, but 2 of the cones north of the Goropu Mountains have fresh-looking preserved summit craters and erupted probably less than 10,000 years ago.
