Cleveland volcano (Alaska) activity update: growing lava dome in summit crater, but no indications of explosions

No indications of explosive ash-producing activity from distant seismic, pressure or lightning sensors.
The new, 60-meter-diameter (200 feet) lava dome occupies only a small portion of the approximately 200 meter (650 foot) diameter summit crater. There have been no observations of ash emissions or explosive activity during this current lava eruption. (source: AVO activity report (19 Feb, nr 21771)

Cleveland Volcano (Aleutian Islands) is showing renewed activity, which was observed in satellite data, and AVO is raising the Aviation Color Code to Orange and the Alert Level to Watch. A new lava dome has been observed in the summit crater, and as of 30 January 2012 was approximately 40 meters (130 feet) in diameter.
