The subglacial Loki-Fögrufjöll volcanic system last erupted in 1910 when it produced some ash fall. It is not certain whether there were actually eruptions as reported for 1986 and 1991.

Background:

The volcanic system is located immediately WNW of Grímsvötn volcano and could be seen as an extension of the subglacial Hamarinn volcano.
