An increase in seismicity can be observed at Tungurahua, but so far, no major explosions have occurred recently and the volcano is primarily steaming.
IG notes that so called long period (LP) events are on the increase and describes the seismic activity level as moderate.
On the current seismogram, a phase of intense activity and tremor can be seen between 18 and 20:30 local time last night.
