Ecuador's Instituto Geofísico (IG) reported an increase in tremor at Tungurahua volcano associated with a new phase of ash venting starting on 3 June evening and continuing into the morning of 4 June. Ash plumes were drifting NW and NE and producing light ash fall.

Tungurahua volcano had an eruption on 30 April, producing an ash and steam column rising 3 km above the crater. The eruption was accompanied by volcanic earthquakes and tremor, and caused ash fall in nearby communities. A lahar warning was issued as well.
