Tobias Schorr came just back from a very nice private walking study tour on Methana. The weather allowed many interesting walks into the mountains of Methana. Old friends and the great landscape were the highlights. Tobias is still planning new tours on Methana for 2009. We will keep you updated. ---

On June 21 the new volcanological museum of Nisyros was opened at the village Nikia. The rich exhibition shows all volcanological phenomena and many rock samples. Many photographs of active volcanoes are provided by VolcanoDiscovery (by Dr. Tom Pfeiffer). At the celebration the most important politicians of the region took part at the opening ceremony. The new museum was planned and designed by a team around the Greek geologist Dr. Giorgis Voujoukalakis and Dr. Michalis Fytikas. ...

Etna - keeping us busy with eruptions at the moment - is worth an own tour in iteself. We have now developed a new exciting program to get to know this wonderful mountain in a series of moderate to challenging hikes, including a full traverse of the mountain. A first group departure is set for 2-8 November. ...
