Darwin VAAC reported that during 25-26 April ash plumes from Batu Tara rose to an altitude of 2.4 km (8,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted 37 km W and SW. During 30 April-1 May ash plumes again rose to an altitude of 2.4 km (8,000 ft) a.s.l. then drifted 37-55 km NW.

No major eruptions have occurred during the past week. Iceland, Santorini and Etna remain quiet. In Indonesia, Krakatau and Semeru are very active, Ijen remains at high alert. Soufrière Hills on Montserrat seems to be waking up, while Puyehue in Chile's eruption is fading. ...
