The new Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report was published today and is summarized as follows:

Ijen (East Java, Indonesia): decreasing activity, alert lowered to 2 (out of 4)
Karangetang (Sangihe Islands, Indonesia): occasional ash eruptions reaching 3-4 km altitude
Karthala (Comores Islands): incandescence at summit crater
Popocatépetl (Mexico): increasing activity, ash venting and explosions generating ash columns rising up to 3 km, incandescent tephra ejected to up to 2 km, ash fall around the volcano
Sirung volcano (Pantar Island, Indonesia): phreatic explosion on 8 May generating ash plume reaching 3.5 km altitude, strong degassing and steaming

Cleveland (Aleutians): elevated temperatures at summit suggest continuing slow growth of lava dome
Karmysky (Kamchatka): occasional weak ash eruptions reaching 2 km altitude
Kilauea (Hawai'i): active lava lake in Halema'uma'u crater, active lava flows advancing on coastal plain reaching 1.4 km from coast
Pagan (Mariana Islands): steaming, elevated SO2 emissions
Sakurajima (Japan): 9 weak to moderate vulcanian explosions during 11-15 May, ash up to 2.7 km
Santiaguito (Guatemala): occasional moderate ash explosions, glowing avalanches and viscous lava from from Caliente lava dome
Shiveluch (Kamchatka): strong explosive activity, large ash plumes up to 15 km altitude, viscous lava flow in 2010 crater
Soufrière Hills (Montserrat): incandescent spots at lava dome
Tungurahua (Ecuador): occasional explosions, steam and ash venting
