To peer into the abysses of Europe's largest active volcano's craters is an experience of a lifetime.
In a small private group, an experienced guide from our team brings you all the way up to Etna's summit (if weather, your condition, volcanic activity and regulations by authorities allow it). Depending on the chosen itinerary, this tour requires moderate to excellent physical condition, adequate clothing and takes between 4 and up to 12 hours total duration.
Variant 1: Etna's summit craters - short circuit
5 hrs total / easy-moderate Take the take cable car and/or jeeps from 1900 to ca. 2900 m elevation, climb abuot 300m to the summit craters on foot. The "easy" way, but still a serious excursion. Details and prices... Variant 2: Etna's summit craters - long circuit
ca. 7 hrs total / moderate Take the take cable car and/or jeeps from 1900 to ca. 2900 m elevation, climb abuot 300m to the summit craters on foot. Then descend all along the upper 1400 m of Europe's largest volcano, observe a stunning variety of volcanic features along the way. A fully loaded exciting tour. Details and prices... ca. 8-10 hrs total / challenging Climb Etna's craters along a scenic route from the south side, starting at about 1800 m elevation, descend back on a different route on the south side. A true summit experience for serious hikers! Details and prices... Variant 4: Etna's summit craters - short traverse
ca. 8-9 hrs total / moderate Drive to the north side of Etna and take a jeep up to ca. 2900 m, climb the summit area from the unusual northern side and descend all along the upper 1400 m of the south side (as in variant 2), effectively crossing the mountain! ca. 10-12 hrs total / challenging Traverse the mountain on a spectacular, challenging route from north to south (or vice versa). No other hike on Etna can offer you such a variety of landscapes and features. Details and prices...
STR_C01: Stromboli volcano toursClimb Stromboli volcano - the lighthouse of the Tyrrhenian Sea, named so because of its permanent spectacular activity: For thousands of years, Stromboli's craters have been erupting small bursts of lava ejecting red glowing rocks into the night sky, an unforgettable sight! The almost unique activity of Stromboli has even given its name to this type of eruption: strombolian.
There are several options you can climb Stromboli. We suggest that you combine a tour to the crater of Stromboli with a stay of at least two days on the island which is a jewel in itself. Note: tour details coming soon!
