Arrival info:The tour starts in Yogyakarta and ends on Bali.
We are unable to include airfare in the package because clients come from a wide range of locations. The best airport to choose is Jakarta, where the tour will start.
It is no problem, if you arrive a few days earlier, in order to have more time to relax and acclimatize. If wanted, a hotel in Jakarta can be arranged, or even an earlier, private transfer to the west coast beach with hotel (where we start our first visit to Krakatoa) at an additional fee can be arranged.
However, a number of alternatives to Jakarta airport are possible, especially Denpasar Airport, provided you are there early afternoon so you can get a single connecting flight to Jakarta for you.
This tour is the second part of the Krakatau to Bali tour. It starts in Yogya and ends on Bali. On our way, we visit Merapi volcano and Borobodur temple near Yogya, then the Tengger caldera, Bromo, Semeru and Ijen volcanoes in East Java.
This tour combines easy to moderate excursions with a portion of luxury, and you will travel to some of Java’s most fascinating landscapes and meet its friendly and colorful people and culture. Last, but not least, adventurous camps - one on a tropical beach, one on the slope of an active volcano - as well as Indonesia’s delicious cuisine will round out the trip. 9 days itinerary

On request, it is possible to start earlier in Yogya or join the group a few days later in Yogya or even directly from Surabaya / Malang.

Arrival in Yogyakarta
Own arrival in Yogya, pick-up and transfer to the hotel.

Free day in Yogya
Opportunity to explore downtown Yogya (Sultan's Palace, water castle, museums, markets etc.). Optional fun city-tour on becak (rickshaws). Option to attend a Ramayana ballet performance in the evening.

Borobodur temple and Merapi volcano

Fly or train ride to East Java, Tengger volcano
Short and scenic flight (alternatively train) to Surabaya, transfer to Malang town, lunch. Enter into the Tengger caldera via an impressive route on open jeeps to enjoy the dramatic landscape of deep valleys and steep cliffs.

Bromo volcano
Relaxed day to explore Bromo volcano and the Tengger caldera

Sunrise excursion to overview of Bromo - rainforest of the National Park - observation of Semeru volcano
Sunrise from the famous viewpoint overlooking the Bromo-Tengger caldera. Jeep ride to Semeru's south side and observation camp (Semeru volcano).

Transfer to Ijen volcano
Transfer to Ijen Plateau, coffee plantations, hot bath in nearby natural hot volcanic springs.

Kawah Ijen volcano - transfer to Bali
Climb and visit of Ijen's crater, descend to the sulphur mining area and the turquoise acid crater lake. In the afternoon transfer to Bali.
