The Darwin VAAC reported that a ash plume from Semeru that rose to an altitude of 4.3 km and drifted WSW on 22 October.

Based on analysis of satellite imagery, the Darwin VAAC reported that during 16-20 October ash plumes from Batu Tara rose to altitudes of 1.5-2.4 km (5,000-8,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted W.
On 21 October, the alert level of Soputan was lowered to 2 (on a scale of 1-4) by the CVGHM, assuming that the October 6 eruption has ended.

I was on a flight yesyerday from Jember to Surabaya with 2 friends and saw Mt Semeru explode at app. 09.37 on the 18 Oct 2008. We were about 20 km from the mountain when I noticed the the top had a small gray mushroom at the top with in a minute or so i was extremley greater in size. I would not be able to guess how high it rose but it was larger than the clouds around. I'm just sending this message as I did not read anything in the news.

A new small eruption took place at the lava dome of Soputan volcano on 6 October. ash explosions produced plumes rising to 2.8 km (9,200 ft) a.s.l. and were accompanied by Strombolian activity that ejected incandescent material 50-150 m above the crater. On 7 October, white plumes rose to altitudes of 2.3-3.3 km (7,500-10,800 ft) a.s.l. Incandescent material was again ejected 50-150 m from the crater. Incandescent rockfalls traveled 500 m W. The next day, plumes rose to an altitude of 2 km (6,600 ft) a.s.l. and in the following days, the activity decreased.

According to a news article, explosions and earthquakes from Anak Krakatau averaged 120 per day approximately during 11-17 August. Monitoring personnel observed active lava flows, ejecting rocks, and emissions of "smoke."
The Darwin VAAC reported that on 19 August an ash plume from Dukono rose to an altitude of 2.4 km (8,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted W.
Based on analysis of satellite imagery, the Darwin VAAC reported that during 14-17 August ash plumes from Batu Tara rose to an altitude of 1.5 km (5,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted W.
Saturday, Jun 21, 2008
Strombolian activity with frequent ash explosions creating plumes of up to about 1 km height continue at Anak Krakatau.
Thursday, Jun 12, 2008
Small pyroclastic flows and rockfall avalanches have been observed at Semeru since 22 May. The pyroclastic flows travelled a maximum distance of 2.5 km from the active crater.
Sunday, Jun 08, 2008
Soputan volcano started to erupt again on 6 June, producing ash plumes 2-3 km heigh and pyroclastic flows triggered by its growing lava dome that reached 4 km distance from the volcano.
Tuesday, Jun 03, 2008
Strombolian activity with frequent ash explosions are continuing at Anak Krakatau. ash plumes reach approximately 1 km height.
Thursday, May 22, 2008
Semeru's activity is increasing and VSI has increased the alert level to 3 (out of 4), recommending to keep at least 4 km away from the summit.
Monday, May 19, 2008
Anak Krakatau continues to produce small ash-rich strombolian explosions. An indirect report from about one week ago about "lava reaching the sea", i.e. lava flows, need to be verified as it cannot be confirmed from other sources so far. More likely, ejected incandescent blocks are occasionally reaching the sea.
Batu Tara continues to be active and erupt small ash plumes.
Friday, Apr 25, 2008
Based on pilot observations, the Darwin VAAC reported that a plume from Semeru rose vertically to an altitude of 6.1 km (20,000 ft) a.s.l. on 21 April.
Thursday, Apr 24, 2008
Anak Krakatau is getting active again. CVGHM reported increased seismicity during 14-21 April as well as ash plumes accompanied by ejections of incandescent rocks observed during field observations on 16, 17, and 18 April. The renewed eruption affected the summit and the E and S flanks. Booming noises were reported and occasionally heard at an observation post 42 km away. The Alert Level was raised to 3 (on a scale of 1-4) on 21 April.
Friday, Feb 08, 2008
Since October 2007 there are daily eruptions on Batu Tara volcano island that produce ash and gas plumes. There is a continuing activity since today.
Tuesday, Dec 11, 2007
The Indonesian Volcanological Survey has increased the alert level of Lokon volcano on 9 December because of increased seismicity and strong gas and steam emission from the crater lake.
The water in the Tompaluan crater changed color from green to gray and noises from degassing became stronger. White plumes rose from the crater to
an altitude of 1.6 km (5,200 ft) a.s.l.
Thursday, Dec 06, 2007
Talang is becoming more active as judged from visual observations and seismicity . ash and steam plumes from multiple craters rose to altitudes of 3.1-4.1 km (10,200-13,500 ft) a.s.l. during 27-29 November. A strong smell of sulfur dioxide gas was also reported. Visitors and tourists were advised not to go within a 3-km radius of the summit.
