Asosan volcano (Kyushu, Japan) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 13 May-19 May 2020 (Continuing Activity)
Wed, 13 May 2020, 06:00 06:00 AM | BY: VNJMA reported that eruptive activity at Asosan was recorded during 11-18 May. Volcanic plumes rose 600-1,000 m above the crater rim and caused ashfall in areas downwind. The sulfur dioxide emission rate was high; the rate was 1,300 tons per day on 17 May.
The Alert Level remained at 2 (on a scale of 1-5).
