Bogoslof volcano (Aleutian Islands): two explosive eruptions on 8 July, ash to 30,000 ft

Saturday Jul 08, 2017 12:05 PM | BY: T

Two short explosive eruptions took place on 8 July morning at 10:15 and 10:29 local time (18:15 and 18:29 UTC). An ash plume rising up to 30,000 ft was estimated that drifted north. The Aviation Color Code was again increased to Red and the Alert Level to Warning.
Seismic data decreased following these two eruption pulses, but additional explosive activity is possible, the Alaska Volcano Observatory wrote.
