Background
Cerro Trautrén in Chile lies at the NW end of an area of Pleistocene volcanism along the Chile/Argentina border. The high point of the complex, Cerro Norte Divortium, lies along the border SE of Cerro Trautrén, which has K-Ar dates of about 0.8 and 0.5 million years (Lara et al., 2001).---
