Nevados de Chillán volcano (Chile) activity update: explosive eruptions of the volcano continue

SERNAGEOMIN reported that explosive activity from the volcano’s Nicanor Crater continues with constant ash emissions. In addition, it was recorded 13 volcano-tectonic earthquakes and 33 long-period seismic events.
No effusive activity was observed since late November.
The warning bulletin states that the public should stay at least 3 km away from the crater on the southwestern flank and 5 km away on the northeastern flank.Source: Servicio Nacional de Geología y Minería de Chile volcano activity update 29 December 2019
