SVERT maintains yellow alert level, but could not obtain satellite data during the past week to determine whether activity continued.
Sunday, Jul 14, 2013
A hot spot persists at the summit of the volcano, suggesting that some sort of activity is present.
Tuesday, Jul 09, 2013
A hot spot was again detected on MODIS satellite data, which suggests the presence of lava or hot gasses. However, visual satellite images showed no degassing plume, which would have confirmed possible activity at the volcano.
Sunday, May 26, 2013
A thermal anomaly was visible until 19 May, perhaps also until 22 May, but has not been detected since then. This might be due to cloud cover or a suggestion that activity has ceased.
