Background
Straddling the Great Divide, the Chudleigh volcanic province contains 46 vents and covers an area of 2000 km2. Several lava shields and numerous pyroclastic cones are present; the youngest dated rocks are 0.25 Ma. Two lava flows traveled 100 km from their source (Stephenson, in Johnson et al. 1989).---
