Eruption news from Cleveland volcano:

Cleveland volcano (Aleutians, Alaska): no new eruptions, alert level lowered

Saturday Jan 11, 2014 08:11 AM | BY: T

No new volcanic activity has been observed at the volcano since the 3 brief explosions on December 28 and 30 and January 2. Satellite views since January 2 suggest that no new lava has effused at the summit crater. AVO lowered the Level of Concern Color Code to YELLOW and the Alert Level to ADVISORY. (AVO / USGS)
Previous news
Monday, Jan 06, 2014
Although no new eruptions were detected during the past days, the volcano remains at orange alert, as new explosions (potentially dangerous for aviation) could occur with little warning (in particular because there is no monitoring on the remote island). [more]
Thursday, Jan 02, 2014
Nothing unusual has been observed in mostly cloudy satellite views of Cleveland volcano over the past 24 hours. AVO has received no reports of activity from local observers. Since the brief explosion from at 4:06 UTC on 31 Dec, no signs of unrest have been detected. [more]
Tuesday, Dec 31, 2013
Small, brief explosions were detected at the volcano yesterday evening (21:29 UTC or 12:29 AKST) and this morning at 4:06 UTC (19:06 AKST local time), USGS reported. ... [more]
Thursday, Jun 06, 2013
There have been no explosions detected from Cleveland volcano since May 6, and there is no evidence for lava effusion since May 13. Weakly elevated surface temperatures detected in clear-weather satellite views are consistent with cooling of a newly emplaced lava flow. ... [more]
Eruption plume from Cleveland yesterday (AVO / USGS)
Monday, May 06, 2013
After the initial explosion 2 days ago, continuous small eruptions produced a steam and ash plume yesterday and decreased in intensity again today. The activity of the volcano, which is not monitored on ground, was detected by satellite data and infrasonic tremor measured by ground-coupled airwaves on the nearby Okmok seismic network, 120 km (80 mi) to the northeast. ...
