Eruption news from Cleveland volcano:

Cleveland volcano (Aleutian Islands, Alaska): no significant activity observed

Monday Jan 27, 2020 02:43 AM | BY: MATTHEW

AVO report that no significant activity was observed in seismic data over the past day. Elevated surface temperatures were observed in one satellite image, and no activity was observed in cloudy web camera images.

AVO add that episodes of lava effusion and explosions can occur without advance warning. Explosions from Cleveland are normally short duration and only present a hazard to aviation in the immediate vicinity of the volcano. Larger explosions that present a more widespread hazard to aviation are possible, but are less likely and occur less frequently.
