Cotopaxi volcano, Ecuador: news & activity updates

During 29 August to 4 September, the number of long-period and hybrid earthquakes at Cotopaxi decreased slightly, and the number of volcano-tectonic earthquakes increased, in comparison to the previous week. No changes in deformation were recorded, and no surficial changes were seen at the volcano. Most of the events recorded during the report period were small, and were recorded mainly at stations nearest to the crater.
