09:41 AM | VON: TOM PFEIFFERSanta Maria volcano's Santiaguito crater remains at elevated level of activity. Frequent ash explosions produce plumes reaching up to 3 km above the crater, and sometimes small pyroclasitic flows, decending the NE and NW flanks. Ash fall is frequent over the localities El Faro, Patzulín, La Florida and others.

Aufgrund der wahrscheinlich nicht erreichten Mindestteilnehmerzahl haben wir leider beschließen müssen, die Tour auf Nordsulawesi für 2006 abzusagen und auf 2007 zu verschieben. Als Alternative wird dafür aber eine Spezialtour zusätzlich (eine Trekkingtour auf Java) angesetzt, und zwar vom 5.-20. August.
